SOUTHERN Region Division One League side Zim Leopards have appointed ex-Highlanders' strikers Tobias Mudyambanje and Chipo Tsodzo to head their coaching staff.

The duo took over from Xolani Nkundlande and Makhosi Mbiba, who were relieved of their duties following a humiliating 5-0 loss to log leaders Bulawayo Chiefs on July 9.

Netsai "Super" Moyo, a Zim Leopards official, confirmed the appointment of Tsodzo and Mudyambanje, saying the coaches' target is to finish the season in the top half of the table.

"Mudyambanje and Tsodzo are now our coaches and were in charge of the team when we beat ZRP Bulawayo 2-1 on Saturday.

"The club's leadership felt that inconsistencies by the team, resulting in us giving away leads like 3-0 to finish 3-3 were unacceptable going into the second half of the season. The final straw was the 5-0 defeat to Bulawayo Chiefs," said Moyo.

Leopards are in seventh position with 17 points from 13 outings.

The matches that contributed to Nkundlande and Mbiba's dismissals were the 3-3 draw against Bosso 90 after they surrendered a 3-0 lead.

They drew 3-3 against Chiwororo after letting slip a 2-0 lead, as well as the 3-2 loss to Amagagasi and 5-0 thrashing by title favourites Chiefs.

Nkundlande has since joined Talen Vision.
