Player unrest hits Dembare

A player unrest is simmering at Dynamos ahead of their date with Castle Lager Premier Soccer League new boys ZPC Kariba at the National Sports this afternoon.

Players are not happy with the $150 winning bonus they are receiving at a time they claim some of their colleagues in the league are getting as much as $400 and are thus holding out for at least $200 per win.

Players last Friday threatened industrial action but were said to have been dissuaded from taking this route by coach Kalisto Pasuwa, who impressed upon them that complaints should come after duty.

The champions will now plunge straight into battle without going into camp and Pasuwa, despite refusing to talk about "the politics" eating into his camp, must be a worried man.

Away from the Dynamos squabbles, for the Saul Chaminuka-coached visitors, it's not just about three points but the wonders a positive outcome will bring to their confidence coming hard on the heels of a big point against former champions Caps United in week one.

Coming up against the defending champions, probably their biggest fixture of the season, the electricians are laden with experienced players that Chaminuka can afford to call on a starting 11 of players who have had a dance with the top flight headlined by such veterans like Caleb Masocha, Charles Chiutsa, Limited Chikafa and the nomadic Norman Togara.

"One thing I can guarantee our fans and those that will come to the stadium is Dynamos will have to sweat for their money," declared Chaminuka.

But with DeMbare aiming to impress in their first league game at home this season, the Kariba visitors will need to give their very best electrical current to stand any chance of an upset.

"There is nothing rookie about this team (ZPC Kariba) except their name. Everyone else from the coach to the players is full of experience and we actually have so much respect for their coach (Chaminuka).

"Our history as Dynamos is loaded with surprises and when everybody expects us to falter we always give our best and we are giving this game the importance it deserves," said Pasuwa.
