SHABANIE Mine and Black Rhinos bade farewell to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League yesterday, joining Chiredzi Football Club and Bantu Rovers in Division One.
From the Central Region, Hwahwa will replace Shabanie Mine while Bantu Rovers have been replaced by Tsholotsho FC from the Southern Region. Flame Lily comes in for Rhinos in the Northern Region.
The Eastern Region is yet to be concluded with one more game of the season to play with Buffalo Junior leading the standings on 64 points and Mutare City second on 62.
Yesterday, Rhinos beat Bantu 2-1, but still went down on goal difference as they had 37 points, the same as Chapungu, who lost 0-2 to Highlanders in Bulawayo. Chapungu had better goal difference of plus-nine.
Shabanie lost 1-2 to Triangle to also bite the dust at Gibbo Stadium against Triangle.
Triangle scored through Richard Kawondera in the first half before Rowen Nenzou responded with an equaliser just after the break.
Praise Tonha scored the winner for the home side.
Triangle head coach Biggie Zuze said he was happy after surviving relegation.
"We knew how much this match was important to us. We wasted quite a number of opportunities in the first half.
But at least we managed to win the match and survive relegation," he said.
His counterpart Jairos Tapera blamed administrative boobs at Shabanie Mine.
"It was not well in our camp and there are some issues that need to be addressed and we are going back to Zvishavane to map the way forward," he said.
