Cape Town - Former Bafana Bafana defender and captain of the 1996 AFCON winning national team, Neil Tovey, has been hospitalised after suffering three heart attacks on Tuesday morning.
KickOff.com reports that Tovey, 52, is currently in the intensive care unit in a Durban hospital.
There are no further details on Tovey's condition but it is believed that Tovey had to be repeatedly resuscitated on Tuesday morning.
Tovey won over 50 caps for the national side and was as a star for Kaizer Chiefs from 1990-1999.
He later coached numerous PSL sides after retiring from the playing arena, including Mamelodi Sundowns, AmaZulu and Black Aces.
This news comes after reports earlier this week that John "Shoes" Moshoeu is fighting for his life in Johannesburg hospital.
