Zimpapers has suspended two senior staffers at its radio station, Star FM, over irregularities involving the transaction of advertising revenue meant for the radio station, Group Chief Executive Mr Justin Mutasa, has said.

He said Star FM programmes manager Mr Tichafa Matambanadzo, and one of the radio station's anchors, Mr Acie Lumumba, had been suspended with immediate effect after an internal audit unearthed irregular transactions involving two companies, Hamtech Investments and Onesay Investments.

Mr Mutasa said the Zimpapers internal audit had uncovered massive fraudulent activities whereby revenue from advertisers meant for Star FM was being diverted to bank accounts belonging to Hamtech and Onesay.

He appealed to the business community not to do any business meant for Star FM through Hamtech and Onesay, saying the two companies were not agencies of the radio station.
