Mysterious Zimbabwean 'leading player' in the mobile sector on mass recruitment

A mysterious 'leading player' in the mobile sector is a on a massive recruitment drive as it seeking 24 people to fill in executive posts.

According to an advert slashed in newspapers today, Industry Psychology Consultants is recruiting saying the firm was on a restructuring phase.

The posts range from Chief Operating Officer, Chief Technical Officer, Chief Finance Officer, Executive - Public Relations and Specialist Projects, Executive- Retail and Marketing, Head- Billing, IN, VAS and Head- Radio Network.

The identity of the mobile network was not immediately clear.

Last week Telecel Zimbabwe Ltd., a unit of wireless provider VimpelCom Ltd., had its operating license cancelled by the country's regulator and given three months' notice to decommission equipment.

The company had been working with the government to resolve a dispute after Information and Communication Technology Minister Supa Mandiwanzira said Telecel hadn't made license-fee payments and failed to comply with the nation's black ownership laws.

While the decision was  effective April 28, Telecel was granted a 30-day license so customers have time to switch providers.
