Delta, Liquor Board on collision course
27 Oct 2015 at 02:55hrs | Views
Delta Beverages is on collision course with the Liquor Licensing Board, which want the company's drivers to carry on them agent's licences when making deliveries.
The LLB has since roped in police to enforce its demand by arresting all Delta drivers and impounding their delivery trusks found without the licence.
Police officers from the Liquor Licence Inspectorate allege the drivers require an agents licence to transport and deliver the liquor.
Two drivers have since been arrested on the allegations. Delta has since instructed its lawyers to approach the High Court to interdict the Liquor Licencing Board and the police from interfering with its operations pending a declaratory order by the High Court on whether its drivers require an agent's licence to operate.
