Bev threatened with lawsuit

Controversial dancer-cum-musician Beverly "Bev" Sibanda could be dragged to court for failing to perform at H and J Night Club in Seke despite receiving advance payment for the concert.
Shumirai Mwale, the entertainment joint's manager, told the Daily News they were already in the process of taking Bev who pocketed $300 from the night club to court.
Mwale said she had paid Sibanda $300 to perform at her joint but the Sexy Angels leader chose not to show up which did not go down well with fans and the organisers.
Bev is taking us for granted. We are now going to sue her because she has duped our company for a long time and this time we won't let her get away with it," she said.
"We invested in this show naturally expecting a return but she and her manager Harpers Mapimhidze chose to take us for granted. They did not even bother to communicate that they would not make it."
Mapimhidze, who manages Bev's affairs, confirmed that his charge had failed to fulfil the H and J Night Club assignment.
"There was communication breakdown between us and the promoter. We are going to compensate for the show. We failed to perform because of circumstances beyond our control which I am not at liberty to discuss in the media," said Mapimhidze.
This is not the first time Sibanda has failed to fulfil her contractual agreements with H and J Night Club. On September 27 this year, she received $300 from the Seke-based entertainment joint but again she failed to show up.
The popular dancer and upcoming musician later agreed to perform on October 7 to make up for the concert she had not honoured.
Mwale told the Daily News that her entertainment joint was not happy with her conduct during the replacement concert.
"She was supposed to perform for three hours but she chose to perform for less than an hour and left. She short-changed us and this time we are going to sue her as we need our money. She won't get away with it again; we won't let her," she said.
Bev, who has in the recent past attracted the wrath of music promoter Biggie Chinoperekwei after failing to fulfil gigs at City Sports Bar and Holly's Hotel, has of late been performing at least two shows a night. Last Friday, she performed two shows at Jongwe Corner in Harare's Hatfield suburb and at Bigman Bar in Unit D, Chitungwiza.
On Saturday she first performed at Shambare Bar in Mbare before rocking Lassy Night Club in Hatcliff, Harare on the same night.
On Sunday night, Bev who appears to be overbooking shows, winded up her weekend programme with concerts at Streambank Night Club in Mbare and Holly's Hotel.
