Masvingo police arrest five for theft of copper cables

Police in Masvingo have arrested five men in connection with the theft of copper cables at Bikita Minerals, following a tip‑off that led officers straight to the suspects.
According to a police update posted on X (formerly Twitter), the arrests were made on 13 February after officers in Bikita intercepted the group while they were allegedly loading the stolen copper onto a 16‑tonne Volvo truck.
Those arrested are Kwashiwa Munongwara (47), Tafadzwa Chepiri (25), Tawanda Kanjanga (45), Beven Mangezi (38) and Davison Tivangana (45).
“The suspects were apprehended while loading the stolen copper cables onto a 16‑tonne Volvo truck,” police said.
Investigations are ongoing.
