SOUTH Africa's soapie stars Katlego Danke (Dineo in the defunct Generations) and Zinthle Ncipha (Kamo in Rhythm City) are expected in Bulawayo on Africa Day where they will grace a promotional show for Ziyanda - a feature film they star in.
The feature film, which starts shooting in Zimbabwe and South Africa in August, will be promoted at a leafy up-market lodge in Bulawayo. A promotional trailer, revealing the film's cast and giving corporates a glimpse into the movie, will be screened at the show on Monday.
"The feature film will be shot in August this year and we expect it to hit international film festivals next year.
"It'll be officially launched in 2016," Ziyanda executive producer, Dumisani Nkomo said.
The local cast includes celebrated gospel artiste Pastor G, television personality Nyasha Mutamangira, Djembe Monks' member Black Cee as well as emerging actresses Phyllis Mlingwa, Amanda Huni and Fortune Mguni.
Entertainment at the show will be provided by Djembe Monks and Family Voices. A fashion show featuring the city's up-and-coming models will also be held.
This will be Dineo's first time to visit Zimbabwe while Ncipha will be visiting for the second time as she was here last year when the Ziyanda concept was launched.
Ziyanda is a story of two young female protagonists (Danke and Ncipha) battling a vicious human trafficking ring.
Nkomo said the promotional show was meant to market the film as an investment and partnership opportunity for the corporate sector and funding agencies.
