BULAWAYO gospel music artiste Tholakele Ndlovu will perform alongside Obadiah Matulane and Witness "Ndux Junior" Malaba at Kalamambuka Shopping Centre in Gwanda next week. The show will feature the three artistes whose desire is to show that music from different genres can co exist within the same artistic space.

In an interview recently, Tholakele, said the show would afford her an opportunity to perform some of the songs she has been working on since the release of her second album, Ngivulele Nkosi, last year.

"I will be performing new songs while fans will sample my old hits. I am also proud to be performing with artistes from other genres even though I am a gospel artiste as I believe it showcases my versatility," she said.

Tholakele said people should attend the show which will not only be an exhibition of some of the songs in her new album but showing the solidarity and unity among the artistes involved.

"People should come to the show and hear my new music while they will also have the chance to listen to music from three different genres because the three of us all do different styles of music," she said.

Speaking on her failure to release an album this year, Tholakele said she had decided to postpone the album release this year because she felt she needed to take a breather from the studio and also give her previous album an opportunity to perform on the market.

The new album will be Tholakele's third since she left the group Amakholwa Amahle with whom she had previously worked on four albums.

Tholakele said people should look out for more variety on her upcoming album as she tried to please different sectors of the country's varied populace.

"On my upcoming album I will be bringing more variety so as to cater for more fans that may not have been keen on my previous efforts because the style was not suited to their tastes.

"One example is my song Nyarara Kuchema which was done in three languages, Shona, Ndebele and Kalanga to cater for all those who speak any of the three dialects," she said.

Tholakele said her performance at the recently held Heroes Gala allowed her to rub shoulders with seasoned artistes who were willing to share the tricks of the trade with her.
