Kwaito's new kid on the block, "Darlington Sibanda" better known as D2X launched his latest offering titled "Shona Phansi" last week on his soundcloud portal.
The track which features Nigerian singer, Uyiosa Osasere Osadayi better known as "ICE" from Lagos has sparked interest in Zimbabwean circles with most people saying the track is pure tribalism aimed at the Shona tribe.
Directly translated as "Shona Down" the track is rather a Zulu term meaning "Get Down."
When our reporters approached the artist for comments, his spokesperson Lucky Sibanda said the artist was unavailable as he is promoting the new single, "We regret the misconception the track has generated, we can assure the public that D2X has numerous friends of Shona ethnicity. Tribalism is not his thing."
