ZANU-PF youths in Nyanga have recorded a six-track album, Batanai, aimed at addressing the scourge of factionalism affecting the revolutionary party.

The album also calls for unity among party members. The group is fronted by national youth deputy secretary for security Lovemore Chibvura. Some of the members include Martin Njanji, Rosemary Chikutirewe, Lazarus Majagade and Richard Mandiwanzira.

Chibvura said the prevailing political situation in Zanu-PF compelled them to pen the album with the sole aim of welcoming Amai Mugabe to the political arena and celebrating President Mugabe's rare leadership qualities.

"People should shun factionalism and unite. President Mugabe is the only one who can lead this country. He is a resolute leader as shown by his track record for the past 34 years of our independence even dating back to the days of the liberation struggle," he said.

The fast-paced album, which is more inclined to a jit beat, opens up with the song, Mhururu Tenderere, which is a song to show support and to welcome Amai Mugabe into mainstream politics.

Batanai Semagamba encourages Zanu-PF to unite at all cost, while Mwana Wenyu Wapanduka bemoans the decision by MDC-T leader Mr Morgan Tsvangirai, to turn his back on the workers who made him what he is today.

The song also denounces sanction calls by Mr Tsvangirai.

In Shumba Inodzvova, the youthful group praises and adores President Mugabe's leadership qualities in Zimbabwe and Africa.

The album was recorded at ZiFM Stereo courtesy of Supa Mandiwanzira, who also sponsored its recording.

The album is expected to be a hit at the forthcoming Zanu-PF People's Congress to be held in Harare in two weeks.

The group is working on videos to be produced before Christmas.
