Noni Zondi, Jusa Dementor and Starboy Willz to perform at Afro TV launch

NONI Zondi, the UK-based South African rapper/singer has been confirmed as headline performer for the Afro TV launch party at the weekend (Saturday 31 March 2012) at the Hilton Hotel Paddington in London.

The sizzling hot artist who doubles as a glamour model and is famed for her bawdy dance routines, is currently making waves in Hip Hop circles and has drawn comparisons to Nicki Minaj following the release of her hit single "Come and Get It". Currently on tour under the tutelage of Nigerian rap impresario, JJC's Big Boyz Entertainment, Noni said she is thrilled to headline the Afro TV show.

"I have been working hard and touring in recent weeks, so I am well warmed up and ready for the show." Noni said.

"I am excited about performing at what should be a cross section and diverse crowd of Africans and UK nationals of all walks of life. In short, I'm thrilled and excited and totally looking forward to bring the fire," Noni added.

Afro TV is a UK-based online television channel aiming to showcase and promote some raw African talents that is usually sidelined by the mainstream media. The channel also promises to feature the biggest, hottest and most engaging African TV programming ranching from talk shows, entertainment interviews, news bulletins, current affairs packages and music shows.

Other performers billed for the night include Zimbabwe's Dancehall artist Jusa Dementor, energetic Gospel music musician Obert Mazivisa and exciting rapper Goldie 1.

The evening show which includes a three course meal at the prestigious Hilton Hotel will be hosted by TV personality Martini and Glorian Francis, while Mr. Richard Taylor O.B.E, the father of slain London youngster, Damilola, has been confirmed as guest of honour.

Mr. Taylor said, "I look forward to attending and witnessing the launch of a new medium in our black community. Our community can only be strengthened by a plurality of voices in the media bringing new voices and perspectives that can educate our youths, entertain our people and foster more cohesion and understanding.

"I believe in the power of communication to purge social ill such as crime, ignorance and other misdemeanours. This additional means of getting information across to members of the Black ethnic groupings of the UK will compliment the existing ones; so that the messages being put out can be easily accessed," he added.

Also on the evening's menu is a fashion show showcasing designs by HARANGA AFRIC KLODS and networking opportunities for patrons.

Tickets for the event can be purchased on afrotvlaunchparty.eventbrite.co.uk/ for a £50 fee that includes a three-course meal, entertainment and free entry into the after-party show.
