Urban grooves singer Rockford "Roki" Josphats is set to make his theatre debut when he stars as himself in a new play titled "Roki and Maneta (Encounter)" coming to Theatre in the Park.

Produced and directed by Daves Guzha with the assistance of Marian Kunonga as co-director, the play will run at Theatre in the Park from August 21-24, 2012. There will be two shows each day starting at 5:30pm and another at 7:30pm.

The cast also includes Nothando Nobengula who plays Maneta, Chipo Bizure and Michael Kudakwashe who feature as adjudicators.

Written by Stephen Chifunyise, the play revolves on one of Zimbabwe's most talked about and captivating rivalries in the entertainment industry.

The Roki and Maneta enmity in the Big Brother Stargame reality show grabbed headlines and divided the nation as fans of the two Zimbabwean representatives came out guns blazing in support of their favourite housemate.

The subsequent disqualification of the pair from the reality show added fuel to the fire as emotions hit the roof with followers of Big Brother StarGame taking turns to heap blame on the two for their reckless behaviour.

However, this did not only have negative impact on Roki and Maneta, as both became instant celebrities and several parties were held in their honour.

Theatre aficionados are set to relive all that drama and rivalry in the emotional rollercoaster play "Roki and Maneta (Encounter)", a light-hearted production infused with dance, music and a sprinkling of comedy.
