Have you ever wondered what will actually happen the day you die or after you are dead? You have never thought about that? What a pity. But don't worry come, just go and see "Dr Manzuma and the Vipers" when Godfrey dies. It might happen to you too.

After the successful run of the play Mother Courage directed by Styx Mhlanga and produced by Amakhosi Theatre the winter season programming at this venue is slowing down and rounding up to open for summer programming with a play from Midnight Shift an arts project based in Harare founded by veteran actor Ben "Shereni" Sibenke. His play "Dr Manzuma and the Vipers" will show on Saturday July 30 at 7:30pm at

Amakhosi Elite 400. Tickets are US$3 adults and half price for children.

Written and directed by Ben Sibenke, it is a painful mystery when Godfrey and Agatha's three sons - Jose, Denver and Faro - isolate themselves from the family and refuse to look for employment. Godfrey (Antony Tongani) and Agatha (Victoria Madzikura) seek assistance from Dr Manzuma (Uncle Ben Sibenke aka Mr Shereni in Studio 263) Dr Manzuma concludes that the answer can only come after Godfrey's death. He makes

sure Godfrey dies. The answer to the boys' behaviour is a chilling, shocking revelation. This neatly woven comedy seeks, without trying to preach, to ask how adequately we are prepared to avoid the mayhem that engulfs Godfrey's family when we die. It makes us see what can happen when we leave this planet.

On the same day at 3pm at Amakhosi Cultural Centre, Ben Sibenke will give a talk to the Amakhosi Arts Academy students on the Challenges Facing the Theatre Sector in Zimbabwe and his proposals on how to unlock value of this sector. This talk is open to interested theatre practitioners and members of the public. All are welcome to attend and interact with Ben Sibenke. Mr Josh Nyaphimbi of the Bulawayo Arts Forum (BAF) will moderate.
