Former ZBC presenter Eric Ramsley Knight has said the newly inaugurated Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo is the envy of Africa after he gave a mature statement following his installation.
Akufo-Addo was inaugurated on Saturday a ceremony which was attended by Zimbabwe's main opposition MDC-T leaders.
"I have just been watching the swearing in of Ghana's new President, Nana Akufo-Addo Live on TV. What a fantastic inauguration ceremony. I really felt proud to African and could dream of the same spirit cascading into my Zimbabwe in the not too distant future.I must say he gave one of the most re- assuring, scintillating, well prepared and mature speeches I have ever heard from an African Leader," Knight said.
"My brother Nelson Chamisa and Mr Morgan Tsvangirai were there. I urge you as Zimbabweans that you take a home a leaf from this grand occasion. Surely there is a lot glean from this and I did imbibe one or two things too. God bless Zimbabwe! God bless Ghana! God bless Africa!"
Former Ghana human rights lawyer vowed to put Ghana "back on path of prosperity" after economic slump under President Mahama.
President-elect Akufo-Addo, 72, took the oath of office at a ceremony in Accra.
He had beaten John Dramani Mahama in elections last month.
In December 31 2016 former president Mahama said, "I stand here today, Mr Speaker, holding the baton of leadership prepared to pass it on with pride, goodwill and determination to Nana Akufo-Addo."
Akufo-Addo has vowed to put the West African nation "back on the path of progress and prosperity" after an economic slump under Mahama that led to an International Monetary Fund bailout.
