Cops accused of killing pregnant woman

About 1 000 community members from Mzinti, in deep rural Nkomazi, Mpumalanga blocked roads connecting their area to Malalane with stones, trees and street signs yesterday morning after they were told that a pregnant woman was allegedly killed by cops' rubber bullets.

Mpumalanga police spokesman, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, said cops were not siding with politicians, but protecting everyone.

He said they didn't know about a pregnant protester dying.
