A suspect in the murder of street vendor, Winet Chirunga, who was killed at her home in Chadibe recently landed in police custody after he had gone to consult with a prophet in Tati-Siding village.

26-year old Kwaita Mbikiwa was arrested by the police at a Tati-Siding Police Post after the prophet convinced him to hand himself over.

Mbikiwa and another suspect who is still at large are said to have killed Chirunga and raped her two cousins who had visited from Zimbabwe.

The Voice reported that the women who were raped without condoms later told the police that the two men who had been wearing balaclavas strangled the deceased before they robbed them of P1 360.00 cash, brand new clothes valued at P900.00 and five cellphones including Chirunga's before they fled.

The police later found some of the stolen clothes, Chirunga's wallet and identity documents on the outskirts of the village near Shashe river.

The suspects could not be traced any further as their footsteps disappeared by the tarred road.

On Tuesday morning, Mbikiwa is alleged to have visited a prophet in Tati-Siding village to seek help.

He allegedly told the prophet that he is wanted by the police as he, together with a friend, had killed a person in Chadibe.
