SADC defence forces will take part in a special forces training programme Exercise Mahombekombe in Kariba from the 24th of August to the 26th of September this year.
An agreement that spells out the privileges and rights of the participating forces will be signed in Kariba next week.
The defence forces' representatives from 12 of the 15-member regional bloc are currently in the resort town the 3rd and final planning conference.
Zimbabwe National Army senior staffer, Colonel Ephias Mahachi says the conference will confirm each member state's level of readiness for Exercise Mahombekombe, with the signing of a status of force agreement next Tuesday.
The agreement will signal the end of the planning phase for the training exercise.
Zambia's representative, Colonel Boston Simbuliani says measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth flow of military equipment, personnel and material to Zimbabwe for use during the programme.
The absence of Seychelles, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Madagascar from the planning conference will not negatively affect the exercise, according to Colonel Yohana Mabongo of Tanzania.
Meanwhile, Angola has given thumbs up to the effectiveness of the regional force in combating terrorism and acts of hijacking.
