Kuwadzana 4 Poly Clinic in Harare is reported to have rejected to immunise a child who was due for immunisation on condition that the child was coming from rural areas.

This was revealed by the Harare Residents Trust that accused the health institutions for violating the health right of the citizens by so doing.

"Nurses at Kuwadzana 4 Poly Clinic refused to immunise a child who was due for immunisation and told the mother that they do not attend to children who are from the rural areas," said the Trust.

The Trust said it has done everything to gather evidence, and authorities are being engaged to ensure that they attend to this matter as a matter of urgency.

The Trust said there are complaints from Mabvuku Clinic maternity Ward where nurses are not assisting pregnant women.

"There is need for investigations about the department. Any pregnant woman who is due will be transferred to Mbuyanehanda without an attention from local nurses. Senior citizens are not being given first preference for medical attention but to wait in the queues for their turn," said the Trust.
