An anti-Mugabe and anti-Zimbabwe demonstration bankrolled by the country's traditional detractors and fronted by one shadowy activist based in New York Savanna Madamombe has failed to attract public interest after people went along with their usual business, ignoring their effort.

Picketers take to the United Nations Headquarters every September to coincide with the arrival of world leaders for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Madamombe has been frantic on her social media handles in a bid to attract public interest on her planned ‘mega' demo against alleged President Mugabe's misrule. Only a paltry curious crowd of onlookers could been seen milling around watching Madamombe and her eight partners frolicking with their banners at the largely ignored demonstration.

A visibly disappointed Madamombe could be seen desperately holding her picketing tools which included banners, a few cameras and tablets as the mid-morning sun started to threaten even higher temperatures.

Meanwhile, a mega demo supporting Zimbabwe has been held successfully by the December 12 Movement in New York ahead of the expected arrival of President Mugabe later today.

Leader of the December 12 Movement, Cde Coltrane Chimurenga said, "What is very significant to us is that our President, President RG Mugabe is coming here to address the world but more importantly, he is coming here to address the world to show that he is the true Pan African world leader for patriotic sons and daughters. The December 12 Movement being long time comrades of Zimbabwe and Zanu PF, it is our obligation and duty to organise and mobilise people into the streets. We want to send a clear message to the detractors and to those individuals who call themselves Zimbabweans but in fact have defected to join the enemy."

The December 12 Movement picketers thunderously chanted "We are African People!" "Mugabe is Right!"
