Duo steal mobile phones worth $1640, jailed

Two Bulawayo men have been slapped with 36 months jail term for unlawful entry and theft from a resident's premises.
The two Lyimon Moyo (19) and Remious Sithole (18) pleaded guilty to the charges when they appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya who sentenced them to 36 months in jail. Six months were suspended for five years on condition of good behavior.
Another 6 months were suspended on condition they restituted the property owner the sum of $270 each which is the cost of the property they stole.
The court was told that on May 1 this year the two went to the Media Centre Shop in Bulawayo where they broke in and stole mobile phones worth over $1640.
The theft was discovered the following day and a report made to the police led to their arrest. The property stole worth $1640 and property worth $1 100 was recovered.
