Sinanzeni Tshabangu (51) of Iminyela township in Bulawayo who made a living through brewing tototo (distilled beer) was finally nabbed by the police last Saturday.
Tototo is illegal in Zimbabwe. Tshabangu of house number 59870/2 was handed a 3 month jail term but was converted to 105 community service.
During the raid, police discovered 6 litres of tototo whose alcohol content is said to be more than 100%. Her equipment was also confiscated.
She sold a cup for just $1 enough to get one drunk the whole day. But her arrest is said to have dumped morale to her loyal customers.
Most people resorted to her brew which is far cheaper than legal beverages.
