Health worker nabbed for stealing COVID-19 equipment

BULAWAYO police have arrested council employee Mike Chidarikire for allegedly stealing COVID-19 equipment from the local authority's vaccine storeroom on Monday.
Acting provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed Chidarikire's arrest yesterday.
"On May 11, police received a report of theft which occurred at Bulawayo City Council (BCC) main store pharmacy," Msebele said.
"Complainant is the BCC security officer and the accused person is Mike Chidarikire (42) from Sizinda, employed by the BCC as a general hand at the pharmacy under the health department."
She said Chidarikire stole CP 500g cotton wool, amoxicillin tablets and five boxes of 50 pieces three-ply disposable surgical masks with ear loop and hid them in his satchel, leading to his arrest.
