CRISIS in Zimbabwe Coalition (CiZC), a conglomeration of over 80 civic society organisations (CSOs), is mobilising citizens to speak against abuse of human rights and other malpractices on public affairs.

Over 65 CSOs met last week in Harare to deliberate on their strategy to form a national convergence of citizens for transformation, in light of the deepening multi-faceted crisis in Zimbabwe.

The meeting resolved to strengthen citizen participation and to rally ordinary Zimbabweans to speak for a reform change agenda and demand government action.

The organisations will mobilise youth, women, farmers, and other marginalised populations which include ethnic minorities and people living with disabilities in the national convergence for transformation process.

The convergence process will be open to all Zimbabweans, including those in the diaspora and across political parties.

In an interview CiZC director Blessing Vava said the convergence was aimed at promoting active citizenry, where members of the public take the active participatory role on issues affecting them.
