Nathan Jeche, the Zimbabwean teenage forward, has achieved a significant milestone in his budding career by securing a contract with Queens Park Rangers (QPR)'s development team, coming from the English lower-tier side Maidstone United.
The 18-year-old striker was officially introduced by the EFL Championship side following a successful trial period in April.
Queens Park Rangers made the announcement about Jeche's signing, along with England teenager Jaden Ogwuazor, through a statement on their website.
"QPR Development Squad is pleased to announce the signings of Nathan Jeche and Jaden Ogwuazor, both of whom have proven themselves during their trials with the club.
Nathan Jeche, the 18-year-old forward, will be with us until the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, following his time with non-league Maidstone United," QPR stated.
"Meanwhile, 19-year-old centre-back Ogwuazor has joined the squad until January. He was previously associated with Stevenage."
In response to his new contract, Jeche, who was born in the United Kingdom to Zimbabwean parents, expressed his excitement in a post on X.
"I am incredibly thrilled to finally announce that I have signed my inaugural professional contract with QPR, and I give all credit to God.
"I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the staff, coaches, fans, and my fellow teammates at Maidstone United and Maidstone Academy for their role in my development."
Jeche made a strong impression during his time with Maidstone last season, particularly standing out in substitute appearances against FC Halifax and Notts County shortly after joining the club.
Jeche, who achieved an FA Youth Cup hat-trick this season, delivered a remarkable performance against Notts County as United made a comeback from a 3-0 deficit, although they eventually lost 5-2 in their final home game of the National League season.
