President Emmerson Mnangagwa did not address an almost empty auditorium at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly as circulated on social media.
Mnangagwa has not yet delivered his speech.
According to Nick Mangwana, the permanent secretary of information, broadcasting, and publicity, President Mnangagwa will deliver his speech on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
Mnangagwa will be making Zimbabwe's National Statement to the UNGA78 today between 1500 and 1545 hours Zimbabwean time.
His address is expected to touch on the philosophy of nyika inovakwa nevene vayo, food security and the attendant achievements, the construction of key infrastructure such as roads and dams, the building of economic enablers such as power stations towards energy self-sufficiency and the drilling of boreholes which have proved to be positive life changers for the rural folks through nutrition gardens as well as the promotion of innovation and startups among the youth through the creativity nurseries known as Innovation Hubs.
