Bulawayo City Council has killed 271 stray dogs mostly in western township under its controversial 'Tie up Order'.
Council aims at enforcing the city's dog licensing and control by-laws that indicate that no person shall allow his dog to roam outside his premises without restraint.
Council official documents reveal that a total of $1 510,64 has been used in the exercise that began in February and ended in April.
However, according to the latest council report, the Director of Health Services, Zanele Hwalima said $1 510,64 was used and six complaints were received during the exercise and four had been resolved.
Investigations were still underway for the other two.
