FAILURE to withstand incessant insults and threats from the father of her child's wife forced a Mutare woman to approach the courts for protection.
Manica Post reported that Tracy Nyagumbo appeared before Mutare magistrate, for a peace order against a Mrs Mauredi, her 'husband' first wife. Nyagumbo pleaded with the court that Mauredi be barred from visiting her workplace or assaulting her in front of her colleagues.
"I have had enough of her insults since 2014. She is in the habit of visiting my workplace demanding that I be transferred from Mutare. She is following me everywhere I go and at one time she stopped my son from boarding a kombi," she said.
"I am no longer in a relationship with her husband and I don't know why she is following me everywhere. We only reside at the same place with her husband."
Mauredi dismissed Nyagumbo's claims as lies. She told the court that she had come to accept the reality that Nyagumbo had sired a child with her husband.
"She is the one threatening me that I have no power to do anything over their affair since both are prison officers. When my husband transferred from Chipinge to Mutare Remand Prison, I was tipped of the relationship. I confronted her, but she denied. I am surprised that she is admitting having a child with my husband," Mauredi said.
"I will not rest until I win my husband back. I admit going to her workplace and even her boutique because I will be looking for my husband. If you grant her the order I would not be able to get my husband back."
Yeukai Chigodora granted the order in favour of Nyagumbo.
She said: "Since you admitted that you are disturbing her peace, I am ordering you to stop."
