Zanu-PF Bulawayo youth league members rounded up hundreds of vendors today and ordered them to take part in planned one million men march in Harare.
Vendors operating along Lobengula street said officials from the commissariat department approached them and dangled residential stands.
They said in order for them to access the 20 000 new residential stands pledged by Local government minister Saviour Kasukuwere, they should travel to Harare for the march.
"Zanu PF youth league members clearly told us to participate in the march without fail" said one vendor.
"They said everyone who will take part will automatically get at residential stand. They showed as a form to be filled and submitted after the march" added another.
The march set for Africa Day is to show loyalty to 92 year old President Robert Mugabe.
The province is struggling to fill its allocated quota and is resorting to dodgy tactics.
However, some youth league members cast doubt whether they will send at least 10000.
"It will be a struggle to get even 10 000 people
"We don't even have that number of active members in the province.
"So we thought of dangling residential stands to get the numbers," said a youth member.
