Eye witnesses allege one illegal miner was trapped hence his brother tried to rescue him and he was also trapped the two are feared dead.
"One miner was trapped and his brother could not let him die, so he tried to rescue him and he was also trapped we think the two are dead as we speak," said the source.
Police is said to have reacted harshly on the case as they are alleged to be burning the illegal miners' make shifts shelters.
The miners escaped in all direction upon seeing a police vehicle and motorists from Kitsiyatota drove off at tremendous speed.
"It is not looking good here in Kitsiyatota police is burning our shelters and we are in mountains evading arrest.
Those with cars vacated at an alarming rate when the police surrounded the place, it is a sad scenario we have lost our valuables in the inferno and they are chasing us away from here where do we go with this high unemployment rate," lamented one illegal miner.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe said he is attending a meeting in Harare hence he is yet to get the details.
However, Kitsiyatota is a home of all unethical deals like crime and prostitution. Sex workers from Harare and Mashonaland Central frequent the place.
