Mapinga villagers in Mashonaland West have profited from an accident scene where a South Africa registered truck, carrying fertilizer, collided with a train at a level-crossing on Saturday evening.

Accident happened yesterday around 5pm.

A motorist who passed by the scene around 3am this morning (Sunday) told Bulawayo24.com that the Chirungu-Harare highway was still blocked at that level-crossing.

"When l passed through around 3am, trucks from Harare were not passing but small cars were using a makeshift road that was made by locals," said the motorist.

"The locals also were raising money from the motorists who were passing by their makeshift road."

Villagers have also been helping themselves to the splits fertilizer on the ground.
