Zimbabwe ropes in Canadian company for the Beitbridge-Chirundu highway project

The Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe (IDBZ) has appointed a Canadian company CPCS as the co-transaction advisers in the Beitbridge-Chirundu highway project with government saying that the project should commence before the end of the 1st quarter of the year.
Lead advisor in the Beitbridge-Chirundu highway project, IDBZ have roped in a Canada based transportation infrastructure consulting firm CPCS as co-transaction advisers.
The firm which has been an advisor for successful concessioning of eight railways in Africa will provide key advice on the structuring of the highway which is being constructed on a build operate and transfer arrangement.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development Dr Joram Gumbo commended the IDBZ for the progress that has been made in commencement of the project, highlighting that all is on course for work to start before the 1st quarter of the year ends.
The Bietbridge-Chirundu highway project worth over US$2 billion will take up to 3 years to complete.
The highway is Zimbabwe's busiest and provides a gateway to neighbouring countries such as South Africa, Zambia and Malawi.
