The Zanu-PF party says victory is certain in the upcoming Mwenezi East by-election.
The Mwenezi East seat fell vacant in December last year following the death of the member of the house of assembly Joshua Moyo.
The Mwenezi East by-election has been set for the 8th of next month (April) and Zanu-PF is now in full campaign mode.
Officially launching Joosby Omar's campaign in Mwenezi, Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Shuvai Mahofa said the party is aiming for a landslide victory and told party supporters that other parties contesting in the by-election have nothing tangible to offer the people.
Zanu-PF central committee member Clemence Makwarimba urged the party supporters to uphold the party's values by voting for Joosby Omar.
Omar said if voted into power he will not disappoint the electorate and will strive to ensure developmental programmes for the community continue.
Omar will be battling it out with three other candidates in the by-election.
The three are Mr Kudakwashe Bhaskiti Chuma of the Zimbabwe People First, Mr Welcome Masuku of the National Consultative Assembly and Mr Turner Mhango of Free Zimbabwe Congress.
