Zanu PF critics have dispelled the notion that the Lacoste faction in the ruling Zanu PF which is led by Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa that it is a pro-democracy group since it is backed by the military wing of government which has the power to force power into its control.
Zimbabwe Communist Party Secretary General who posted the critics remarks on Facebook said "The RWG paper makes some shocking and scary if not mistaken assumptions about the true nature of the factions in Zanu PF."
The critics said the Lacoste faction is potrayed as a pro -democracy faction which is fallacious.
"It is armchair inane and wrong to describe a military backed and unpopular faction as pro -democracy. Again G -40 is not just protectionist, it is nationalistic. Third world nationalism is progressive. Trotsykites never supported the liberation struggle of the African continent I guess it's difficult for them to understand the impact of the struggles waged by Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere, Samora Matchel, Nelson Mandela, Patrice Lumumba, Sankara -Chitepo etc," reads the post.
"The preposterous fallacies of the RWG began with the spurious assumptions on China. China is not an imperialist power. It's an emerging capitalist country. It perennially defends the third world from western imperialism and NATO. It offers cheap loans to African governments. It doesn't impose puppets and neither does it colonize and bomb countries like what the Americans and the Europeans do. It is not funding NGOs to destabilize the third world."
"We've debated imperialism before and cited Lenin. Lets avoid distorting Marxism."
The critics said the theory of permanent revolution is still relevant in so far as we need global socialism which is permanent.
"But I don't think it's a practical developmental philosophy. The ideas of Karl Marx and Lenin remain the foundation. The industrialization of Russia and the rise as a power house is a statement on itself on the uselessness of some of the assumptions of the permanent revolution theory. The rise of the Brics also shows the extent to which we may end up being misled," reads the post.
"Stalininsm is wrong but it led to the independence of the third world. Where was Trotskyism at that time. The hypocrisy of some Trotsykites lay in their continued support of the mdc for the democracy question yet at the same time condemning the two stage theory. People will not take serious socialists who are only good at gushing rhetorical pieces and propaganda yet lacking a program of action."
The post further states that naivety doesn't stimulate confidence at all.
"You think you will the support of the working class by telling them that Zimbabwe will never have an industry again. Marxism -Leninism talks about an agrarian revolution and industrialization. It is the developmental policy for radicalizing people's of peripheries of capitalism," reads the post.
"People want practical solutions. The resources of the country have to properly organized and distributed to expand the economy, jobs, achieve equality and ensure access to basic services," reads the post.
