A CITY woman appeared in court seeking for a peace order against her violent ex-hubby.

Mativenga Kamusha told the court that her ex-husband Gilbert Nhamo was disturbing her peace by always harassing her and claiming back his maintenance.

"My Worship, he is my ex-husband, we used to live together but after some misunderstandings we separated.

"We were married for 10 years and we have two children together.

"We divorced in January 2016 and l applied for maintenance for my children.

"He never took care of the children, chaaigona kunwa doro and spending money on prostitutes.

"So in January this year I found someone who loves me, so upon hearing it he started coming to my marital home harassing me saying that he wants his maintenance.

"He claimed that his money for maintenance is being used by my current husband," said Kamusha.

In response Nhamo said:

"She is lying Your Worship, l never harassed her and she is not even married.

"I was just asking for access to see my children but she is refusing.

"I want to stay with my children. I don't want them to be in custody of another man whilst I am still alive.

"She is not married but she is staying with her boyfriend taking care of him using my own money.

"I want all my money for maintenance back; she is not taking care of my children.

"They are not even going to school," said Nhamo.

Presiding magistrate Amanda Muridzo granted the peace order in Kamusha's favour and advised Nhamo to apply for access so as to see his children.
