The Norton house of assembly member Temba Mliswa has annoyed social media users on Twitter after he said retailers who are hiking prices are saboteurs who deserve their stock confiscated.
Mliswa tweeted, "Prices hikes are unjustified. Retailers are trying to take advantage of the festive season. Salaries have not gone up …you are economic saboteurs who deserve to have their stock confiscated,"
"Temba, Temba, Temba saboteur ilanguage dzechitororo. The economy is stubborn. It's all about confidence," tweeted Rudairo
Another commenter identified as Patiriposhata tweeted, "Mliswa need to join ZANU PF officially. Then you think we are a whole nation of saboteurs? Only you and ZANU PF are saints? But then grabbing culture is in you. Farms, what of the Paul Westwood competition? What do you do with confiscated goods then?
"Does confiscating their stock solve anything," tweeted The citizen.
Tonderai tweeted, "Now you finally agree that prices are rising. After your failed propaganda when you were busy. Now that ED has been sworn in rates and prices have gone. Have they Temba."
A disgruntled follower blasted the confiscating of goods and linking it with the sacked Minister for agriculture Joseph Made who was reportedly seen with agriculture inputs, tractors and wheelchairs by the military under the operation restore legacy.
"But Temba you want to confiscate the stock and put it where? At Dr Made's farm??
"Stock to be confisticated by whom?? I mean why don't you confisticate the banks for causing cash shortages?? Or are you a beneficiary of these cash shortages?? Or are you a beneficiary of these cash selling schemes?? Come on Honourable is this what it is about??" said With us Masunda in a tweet.
