Mnangagwa's Politburo nicknamed 'Couburo'

Former Higher and Tertiary Education minister Jonathan Moyo has coined President Emmerson Mnangagwa's new Zanu-PF Politburo the Zanu PF Couburo after Mnangagwa was assisted by General Constantino Guveya Dominic Nyikadzino Chiwenga to stage a military coup against Robert Mugabe on the 15 November 2017. Majority of the new faces in Zanu-PF's highest decision-making body are military men.
Yesterday, Mnangagwa chaired his second Zanu-PF politburo meeting since taking over the reigns of power on 24 November last year.
The Zanu-PF Politburo yesterday set up an ad-hoc committee to deal with wanton price increases for basic commodities in the past three months, with President Mnangagwa warning unscrupulous businesspeople that Government would deal with them severely. The ad-hoc committee is chaired by the revolutionary party's Second Secretary and Vice President General Constantino Chiwenga (Retired). Prices of most basic commodities have more than doubled since the time Mnangagwa and Chiwenga staged a military coup.
Moyo chided the decision saying, "TheNovemberCurse. Does the Zanu PF Couburo really believe that it can get a partisan ad hoc committee to do what the Coubinet has failed to do to about crazy prices of basic commodities that started skyrocketing with the 15 Nov coup?"
The new faces in the politburo are Vice President Retired General Dr Constantino Guvheya Chiwenga, Retired Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri, Lovemore Matuke (Secretary for Security), and Retired Lieutenant General Dr Engelbert Rugeje.
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Mabel Chinomona has also climbed up in the party to be a member of the politburo. She is the new Secretary for Women's Affairs.
Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Minister July Moyo is also now a politburo member (Secretary for Transport and Welfare).
Also now part of the politburo is outspoken critic of former President Robert Mugabe, Christopher Mutsvangwa.
Another new comer to the politburo is famous spokesman of Operation Restore Legacy Retired Lieutenant General Sibusiso Moyo, who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in the new political dispensation.
Youth Affairs National Secretary Pupurai Togarepi has bounced back, while Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri assumed her seat on the top table as the first female chair of the ruling party.
Moyo also wrote that, "In Zimbabwe November is sacred. Anything with spirituality done in the month is doomed. It's the #NovemberCurse. You ignore it only at your peril. A marriage in November fails; or worse happens. Smith's 11 November UDI failed. So, the 15 November coup of Chiwenga & Ed is doomed!"
