Mnangagwa leaves for Angola

The President, Emmerson Mnangagwa has left Harare for Luanda, Angola on an official visit.
He is being accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Retired Lieutenant General Sibusiso Moyo, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy and Power Development, Mr Partson Mbiriri and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement, Mr Ringson Chitsike.
President Mnangagwa is expected to brief the Angolan leader, Mr Joao Lourenco, on the situation prevailing in the country and events leading to his ascendancy into the highest office in the land.
Angola is the current chair of the SADC troika.
Zimbabwe and Angola are close co-operating partners in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) activities that include military co-operation, the United Nations verification missions one and two where the new Commander Defence Forces of Zimbabwe General Phillip Valerio Sibanda once served as commander.
Mnangagwa was seen off by the two vice presidents, Retired General Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi, several government ministers and service chiefs.
Meanwhile, Vice President Mohadi is the Acting President.
