Woman convicted after being called a prostitute

A 35-year-old Guruve woman was convicted for two counts of assaults at Guruve magistrate court today (Monday) after she was labelled a prostitute by two complainants.

The court heard that Peacelady Kandali from Kachuta area of Guruve severely assaulted Monica Kambodzi and Patience Kachigu respectively on 16 February 2018 after she accused them of spreading gossip calling her a prostitute.

Kandali pleaded guilty to both charges and Guruve resident magistrate Shingirai Mutiro slapped the accused with community service sentence.
