ZEC hires Zanu-PF activist as election presiding officer

THE Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) hired a known Zanu-PF activist as presiding officer for a Bulawayo polling station in the just ended harmonised elections, it has emerged.
This came out during the recent court trial of one Craig Mthulisi Malasa Moyo was arrested for showing an open palm, the MDC Alliance symbol, inside the polling station in contravention of sections of the Electoral Act.
Dephine Dzvange, a well- known Bulawayo Zanu-PF activist who presided over elections at Agape College polling station in Bulawayo South, was witness in the matter.
Dzvange was in October last year, alongside three other Zanu-PF activists, dragged to court for allegedly booing then first lady Grace Mugabe at the Zanu-PF Presidential Youth Interface rally held at White City Stadium.
