A prominent Shurugwi sex worker has allegedly lost property worth R2 500 to a client after the two disagreed on payment for sex.
Grace Ngwenya (32) who is employed at Unki Mine as a general hand claimed in court that she lost a set of sofas to a client Rashid Mdala (34).
She says after the misunderstanding, she stormed out of her bedroom where they had planned to have nice time that night.
Mdala appeared before Shurugwi resident magistrate Sangster Tavengwa facing theft charges and is pleading innocent. Mdala insists that Ngwenya's sofas were taken as collateral for a debt that the latter owed to a certain hospital employee.
The matter was remanded to September 24 for trial.
It is the State case that on September 7, 2018, at around 11pm, Ngwenya and Mdala left Mumvuri Bar and proceeded to Ngwenya's house, Ngwenya then told Mdala to give her cash before they had sex, but Mdala refused and a misunderstanding arose. Ngwenya stormed out of her house leaving Mdala behind and she went to Mzansi Night Club. She came back home at 1255am and discovered that her four pieces of sofas which were in her dining room were stolen.
Ngwenya who is not new to scandals once appeared in court after her former boyfriend Asani Nhongo sought a piece order against her. She also recently appeared in court facing charges of insulting a vendor using vulgar language over shoes she had borrowed.
Bertha Bore prosecuted.
