Prof Peter Dzvimbo appointed CEO of ZIMCHE

Professor Kuzvinetsa Peter Dzvimbo has been appointed as the CEO of the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE) with immediate effect.
Celebrating the appointment former minister of higher and tertiary education Professor Jonathan Moyo said, "The appointment of Prof Peter Dzvimbo, and his assumption of duty today, as the CEO of the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE) is most welcome. Prof Dzvimbo, who succeeds Prof Emmanuel Ngara, is an accomplished scholar and higher learning administrator. Amhlophe to him."
Peter Dzvimbo is a Zimbabwean academic from Chiweshe. He was the first Vice-Chancellor of the Zimbabwe Open University and was Rector of the African Virtual University.
Apart from working as a vice principal of a teachers' college in Zimbabwe, Kuzvinetsa has taught at universities in Zimbabwe, Nigeria, South Africa and the USA.
He worked in a number of African countries in the field of e-learning and teacher education. Kuzvinetsa has been a consultant for organizations such as UNICEF, UNESCO, the World Bank, USAID, AED, and the Royal Netherlands Embassy in South Africa. He obtained his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, his master's degree from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria and his B.A from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, in Freetown –Sierra Leone, where he started his career as a high school teacher.
