Mnangagwa says his admin will listen to PAC

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has assured the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC) that members of his administration, at all level, will be receptive to their suggestions and ideas.

The President said the objective is to work together towards a shared vision of becoming a middle income economy by 2030.

Speaking at State House today at the inaugural briefing session for newly established PAC, President Mnangagwa said the PAC appointment is set to propel the development of Zimbabwe.

He said greater involvement of the private sector players is critical to development, and has become the trend globally, adding, "domestic policies must be now be crafted with a global outlook".

"Engagement and reengagement, stabilisation of the economy, zero tolerance to corruption, devolution of power, should result in the marked improvement of the socio-economic landscape of the country," said President Mnangagwa.

The President said the Transitional Stabilisation Programme and various policy annoucments should be a becon to unlish full potential towards Vision 2030.

He urged the PAC to give ideas and views mindful of the needs of the people of Zimbabwe.

"You must be informed by the immense opportunities in the various sectors of the economy. The present challenges must not deter us from realising economic development," he said.

President Mnangagwa noted that the country must speed up development of rural systems, improve exports in order to participate effectively in the global values chains and global markets.

He also said, guidedby the open for business mantra, Zimbabwe must follow global developments.

President Mnangagwa expressed gratitude to members of the PAC for accepting his invitation to serve the country and help lead it to success, adding that he believes in a broadbased inclusive approach.

Speaking at the same occasion while giving opening remarks, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga said, true to the President's philosophy of servant leadership, he established Zimbabwe's first-ever Presidential Advisory Council.

Also in attendance was the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda, Cabinet Ministers, Chairman of the Public Service Commission Dr Vincent Hungwe and other senior government officials.

Members of the PAC include: – Divine Ndhlukula, Trevor Ncube, Thomas Zondo Sakala, Sibusiso Moyo, Joe Mtizwa, Lewis Maxwell Musasike, Dr Nobert Mugwagwa, Dr Godfrey Sikipa, Remigius Makumbe, Simbarashe Mangwengwende, Dr Lindiwe Sibanda, Aenias Chuma, Edwin Manikai, Sam Malaba, Professor Kuzvinetsa Nzvimbo, Natalie Jabangwe, Janah Ncube, Dr Shingi Munyeza, Simon Hammond, Richard Wilde, Kudakwashe Tagwirei, Professor Robson Mafoti, Mfaro Moyo, Elisa Ravengai and Herbert Nkala.
