Controversial MDC-T senator Morgan Femai has called on government to punish prisoners who sodomise other inmates in the country's prisons.
Contributing to a debate on the state of prisons at Parliament, Femai, "when prisoners see a new inmate, the old ones regard them as women and go on to sexually abuse them.
"If you trace the history of those prisoners, you will find out that they used to commit sodomy before being put in prison. Those prisoners should be re-arrested, tried and sentenced for sodomising other men," said Femai.
"A lot of people have relatives who have been abused in prison and upon release most of them would have contracted the HIV virus."
Femai caused a storm last month after calling for the draining of moisture from female sexual organs and that they should not bath regularly as a way of curbing the HIV/Aids scourge also challenged churches and the corporate world to assist in the upkeep of prisoners.
