MORGAN Tsvangirai's spokesman Luke Tamborinyoka has dismissed reports that the Prime Minister fathered a child with a 23-year-old Bulawayo woman who is now threatening to sue him for maintenance.
The Standard newspaper reports that -- Loreta Nyathi has since instructed her lawyers to sue Tsvangirai for maintanance because she has been frustrated by the MDC-T leader's apparent refusal to help with the upkeep of the nine-month-old boy.
Bulawayo lawyer Josphat Tshuma of Webb Low & Barry told the newspaper that he has have not done the letter yet because he was attending a funeral. "We hope to finalise everything by Monday," he said.
However, Tsvangirai's spokesman, Luke Tamborinyoka, dismissed the report saying his boss had more important things to worry about.
"We are sick and tired of these stories. The PM is worried about pressing national issues like violence, the issue of civil servants salaries and the roadmap to elections," Tamborinyoka said.
The Standard claimed Loreta was first introduced to Tsvangirai at a Bulawayo hotel in 2009 after which the pair kept in touch through phone calls and text messages.
They allegedly had another tryst at yet another Bulawayo hotel in February last year when Nyathi claims she fell pregnant.
She told the newspaper senior MDC-T officials in Harare had been giving her money for her upkeep since but allegedly stopped last month forcing her to consider approaching the courts.
Tsvangirai was also recently linked to another Bulawayo woman but his officials dismiss the reports as part of a politically motivated campaign to tarnish his image.
The MDC-T leader's wife, Susan died in a road accident in March 2009.
