Charamba to be appointed minister of information

Former Chronicle Senior Assistant Editor Jonathan Maphenduka has hinted that Zanu-PF has recommended presidential spokesperson George Charamba to be appointed Minister of Information ahead of incumbent Webster Shamu.
Speaking to journalists at an election coverage workshop in Bulawayo, Maphenduka said Shamu was "too shallow to run such an influential Ministry."
"Charamba has matured to become a very tactful person. If Mugabe would remove him from under his armpits and let Charamba become the Minister of Information because i am just not convinced by Shamu," said Maphenduka.
He also took a swipe at Zanu-PF politburo member Jonathan Moyo saying the professor was excess baggage to Zanu-PF.
"Moyo is a very reckless person fond of making un-calculated statements that soil the reputation of Zanu-PF. I do not know why Mugabe continues to keep him, Moyo is just excess baggage," he said.
