Nehanda statue to be unveiled

The statue of the late national spirit medium Mbuya Nehanda is set to be unveiled to tomorrow by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Surviving relatives of the first Chimurenga heroine the spirit medium of Mbuya Nehanda has however approached the high court challenging the move.
The Upper Mazowe Cultural Landscape custodian chief Maxwell Dzapasi Hwata, alleged maternal nephew of Mbuya Charwe and Israel Marufu argues that disasters will occur across the country if the government erects the statue without observing traditional rites.
The statue is mounted along Samora Machel road in the CBD of Harare.
