ZANU PF acting youth leader in Mashonaland Central Esrom Nhete recently claimed that the party is broke and is going to give youths mountains since there is no farming land left for youths.
Speaking at a meeting in Chiweshe the dreadlocked Nhete said youths should be the backbone of the party.
"We know that you need land but look here our party is broke and there is no land left for youth in the province instead we have mountains we will give you mountains in case you strike gold," Nhete said.
Nhete became the acting youth chairperson of the party after the death of Ferenando Ruwizhi who died mysteriously in January this year.
Calls for land allocation have been increasing among the youth who feel left out of the land reform as chefs continue to parcel land amongst themselves while the youth are bewildered as they were promised land will be available after the land audit.
Zanu PF National Youth League Acting Secretary Tendai Chirau recently appealed for land from Mashonaland Central Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Monica Mavhunga but she urged the youth to seek joint ventures with those who have farms.
